A new appliance only performs as well as it’s installed. Most leaks, noisy washers, tipping ranges and dryers that won’t dry trace back to the installation, not the appliance. Top Town Appliance Repair Service installs refrigerators, ovens and ranges, dishwashers, washers and dryers in homes across Sacramento, West Sacramento and nearby cities. Because we repair appliances every day, we know what goes wrong when installation shortcuts are taken.

Appliances We Install

Refrigerator installation

We connect the water line for the ice maker and dispenser, check for leaks, level the cabinet so the doors close and seal properly, leave the clearance the manufacturer specifies for airflow, and reverse the door swing where the model allows. Then we confirm it’s cooling before we go. Guide: refrigerator installation.

Oven and range installation

For gas ranges, that means a proper connection and a leak check. For electric ranges, the correct cord and connection. Every freestanding range gets its anti-tip bracket, which manufacturers require because an untethered range can tip forward when weight is placed on an open door. We also fit wall ovens to their cut-out. Guide: oven and range installation mistakes to avoid.

Dishwasher installation

We handle the water supply, the drain with a proper high loop or air gap so dirty water can’t flow back, the electrical connection, and securing the unit to the countertop or cabinets. If it drains into a new garbage disposal, we make sure the knockout plug has been removed. Guide: dishwasher installation.

Washer installation

New fill hoses (old ones shouldn’t be reused), the drain hose set correctly in the standpipe, shipping bolts removed from front-loaders, and the washer levelled so it doesn’t walk during spin. Guide: washer installation.

Dryer installation

A gas connection with a leak check, or the right 3- or 4-prong cord for your electric outlet, plus a safe vent run. We use metal ducting kept as short and straight as practical, because vent restriction is the biggest cause of slow drying and overheating. Guide: installing your new dryer.

Why Have a Repair Technician Install Your Appliance

  • Fewer callbacks. We install to the manufacturer’s instructions. Those are the details that prevent the leaks and failures we’re usually called to fix.
  • Tested before we leave. Every appliance is run and checked: the water connections for leaks, gas connections for leaks, and heating, cooling or spinning confirmed.
  • Old connections checked. Old valves, worn hoses and crushed vents get flagged before they cause trouble with your new appliance.
  • Over 10 years of appliance experience, across all the major appliance types.

How Installation Works

  1. Tell us what you bought. Call (510) 677-7166 or book online with the appliance type and model if you have it.
  2. Check the space. Measure the opening and confirm the connection type you have (gas or electric, water line, vent). If you’re unsure, we’ll check it on the visit.
  3. Installation and testing. We connect, level, secure and test the appliance, then show you anything you need to know.

Appliance Installation FAQ

Do I need a professional to install a dishwasher or gas range?

Both involve water, drain, electrical or gas connections where mistakes cause leaks or safety hazards, so professional installation is strongly recommended. Some manufacturers’ warranties also expect proper installation.

Can you install an appliance I bought online or from a big-box store?

Yes. Have the appliance delivered to your home and we’ll install it.

Why does my new washer shake so much?

The most common reasons are shipping bolts left in a front-loader and a washer that isn’t level. Both are fixed by a correct installation.

What is an anti-tip bracket and do I need one?

It’s a bracket that anchors a freestanding range to the floor or wall so it can’t tip forward. Range manufacturers require it, and we install it with every range.
